damn.

we're going to a black tie wedding this weekend.  i'm not sure what that means except it sounds pretty fancy.

my hubs would never sport a bowtie.  but these guys look so hot.  can you wear a bowtie/ dress shirt combo with just a regular suit?  or does it have to be a tux?  see.  i have no idea.

i'm in my own personal dressing conundrum. 8 months pregnant means 'balloony' no matter how you slice and dice it.  i'll let you know how i end up styling myself and the 40 pounds i've gained.  it should be interesting.

paris.

i don't know if it's because i have cabin fever or what.  but i'm daydreaming again.

ever since following jordan's temporary move to paris, i've been salivating over my own potential parisian dalliances.  the food, the streets, the fashion, the museums, the gardens.  i mean, the probability of it actually ever happening is, like, zero, or more like, negative, but seriously.  wouldn't it be awesome.

dreams.

paris is a far cry.

but you know what?  hawaii isn't.  and i'm kind of just as obsessed with hawaii.  for different reasons:  the beach, the air, the attitude, the life.  problem is, my husband has a great career going on here that doesn't give him the option of being anywhere outside of LA.  wah.

have you ever just picked up and left to experience something new somewhere new?

i just want one year of living in any one of my dream cities.  is that lame?  irresponsible?

anew.

it's 2013.  can you believe it.

a part of me is sad 2012 is over.  and more specifically, the holiday season.  but 2013 is going to be a brand new, exciting, crazy year.  case in point:  baby in my belly.

i've never been too much of a stickler for resolutions.  i mean, shouldn't every day be a day to accomplish something?

ha.  yeah right.

but here are some big ticket things i have my eye on for the year.

1.  travel.  hubs and i agreed early on that we want to expose our child to travel as soon as it makes sense to take him around.  it'll be a different type of experience, and hopefully a happier one.  i'm ready.

2.  career.  do i go back to work or become a stay at home mom.  ideally, i want to go back to work.  but then again, i'm bored out of my mind right now.  things might change after he's here.

3.  personal.  last year, i jumpstarted the year with the goop cleanse.  this year, i think we're going to aim for a healthier lifestyle overall.  make some use of my gym membership.  cook more.  sign up for a 10k.

what decisions or changes do you plan to make for 2013?

sleeves.

i have 3 tats.  one is a tramp stamp.  what.

my husband has zero and isn't the tat type.  but i always tell him to GET SLEEVES.  because they make me hot.

i guess they wouldn't look good past age 54 or so.  but when we're 54, who's going to care what we look like.

lights.

i was going back and forth between getting a fake tree and a real tree this year.  we had a real one last year and it was nice.  nothing against it.  just considering my options.

the fake tree i wanted was sold out so i was like 'ok, let's get a real tree'.

my sister (in town from NY) came with me to a tree farm last week so we could pick one out.  we spent about 10 minutes selecting the perfect 4.5 footer.

but lo and behold.  neither of us could carry it.  i was like 'don't look at me.  i'm pregs.' and she was like 'i can't do it.  it's heavy.' so it was a fail.

and then this weekend FLEW by and my husband and i had zero time to pick up a tree.

and i kind of feel like this past weekend would've been the last to pick up a tree without feeling like it was a waste.

so while he was at work today, i did this.

*held together with scotch tape and love*

can't wait for him to come home and make fun of me.  whatever.  i need my tree.

coupons.

do you coupon?  i don't.  i should though.

anyways.  hubs asked what i wanted for christmas this year and i started rattling off a  lo0o0o0o0ong list of to-dos, rainchecked for post baby.

for example.

sushi.  like i want sushi.  so bad.
wine tasting (anywhere, i don't care).  i want to drink.
start running together.  i want to sweat.
and so on and so forth.

blah blah - all things i want to do right now but can't.  so given what i want, he said he'd give me a coupon book of 10 things i could redeem whenever however.  and we would agree on the 10 things together.  normally i'd think something like this was cheesy.  but crave something and then hold back for 9 months. and then tell me how you feel.

trust.

v.

my husband, still in love with me i guess, dropped a wrapped bag of snickers minis into my purse this morning.

i'm obsessed with snickers. i have a (kind of strong) thing for this caramel nougety peanut chocolate treat.

i love love sometimes.

cough.

gaw. i'm sick.

it might have something to do with the million calories i didn't eat last week. the result? two pounds lost, and a wretched cold. gugh. but it was worth it just to try it. that's what i always say.

we got our lacma on recently because i wanted to see the rodarte installation and also because i wanted to show my hubs the little city with a thousand hot wheels.

both are brilliant. but one thing about the dresses.

there just weren't enough.

wheel.

yesterday am, my husband peeled me out of bed like a fruit roll up and forced me to stick to our resolution of being active together 1 hour each week.

don't be gross.

we ran along the beach.

it was kind of too beautiful...and felt too good.

to hate his guts.

new.

maybe it's because i'm in my thirties now. but i try not to think too hard about things. when i find myself thinking too hard, i start feeling all crowded up in here and i have to back out of it. like backin' up backin' up backin' up.

not sure what that has to do with anything except i'm so super amped for all the thangy thangs i plan to do this year.

a short list:
- golf lessons
- apprendre le français
- two blogs (yes. wmbg is one of them.)

i changed careers not too long ago, took a big risk, thinking that that would be...enough?

but honestly. it hasn't been.

and if you're reading this, then you're probably a blogger. so you know.

that it's not just about the job.

which means the rest is up to us. what you make of your decisions, what you do even in the utmost peripheral aspects of your life.

it's how you choose to feel fulfilled.

i'm eating strawberries out of a reusable ziploc container that smells like old cheese.

what's on your list?
